The name SALIS was taken from the Latin saying "cum grano salis", which is attributed to the Roman scholar Pliny. This saying is translated verbatim as “With a grain of salt” and implies: “Take everything with a dose of scepticism and common sense”. And this is the guiding principle of the Salis company.

SALIS was established in the second half of 2006. Its principal activity is the distribution of salt for road deicing. The company imports sea salt primarily from Mediterranean countries and distributes it to end users. The company can also supply other types of salt (table salt, industrial salts and evaporated salts).

The Salis company has its registered office in Hrpelje near Kozina where the parent company, CPK, d. d. has its operative headquarters and warehouses. The capacity of the warehouses exceeds 7,000 tons of salt.

The company pays the greatest attention to the quality of its services. When it comes to customers, the company fosters a professional and comprehensive approach so as to create conditions whereby even the most demanding customers are confident in placing their trust in them.
